Research

We are currently testing the efficiency of a spatial analysis mathematical model. We are gathering data in both the rocky intertidal and chaparral habitats to test this model which will predict the placement of organisms within a community.

Educational

We have been taking a short break from our educational programs.  We are currently conducting research surveys through regions of Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.  We are also busy with research in the rocky intertidal areas of southern California.  We would especially like to thank our participating volunteers who assisted with some of the intertidal measurements.

Plans are currently in the works for a public astronomy night.  Meteorite displays, astronomical information and telescopes for viewing planets, stars or other visible celestial objects will be available.

We will be updating our website with information on these events that are open to the public.  We hope to see you there!

Some Interesting Scientific Facts

If the world is represented as a soccer ball, the atmosphere is only as thick as a sheet of paper. This is one reason why pollutants released into the atmosphere are such a concern.
